Melvin Lane Kitchen

Traditional with contemporary flair, joining the kitchen with the garden and creating a place for friends and family to gather for large social events…these were a few of the wishes for the clients of Melvin Lane. The family loves to cook and entertain so the list of appliance has all of the usual amenities and a few others …like a deep fryer, turbo oven and high heat broiler.

Flicker Way

The residence on Flicker Way was a large house with many small rooms.  We removed walls from the small breakfast room, butler pantry into the kitchen to create this large modern kitchen.  In like manner, the Master Suite had very small his and hers bathrooms.  Creating the one bathroom gave us the space allowing for this inviting walk in closet.

Chautauqua

The California Spanish house was built in early 1900.  It was time for restoration and we wanted to keep it as close to the original period as possible.  All the tiles were carefully selected from original Malibu Tile patterns.  The care that was taken in the choices of materials and colors is reflected through the home.

Ambrose Ave Residence

The tiny kitchen of the growing family needed more space both in storage and visual.  We added a larger window and French doors to the outside but most importantly, we created custom 4′ wide double pocket doors to the hall that open the room 8′.

Bobolink

Clean lines, warm, traditional home with an open plan between family room, living room and kitchen for entertaining.

Chadbourne Avenue | Kitchen, Wet Bar, Master Bath, Office

This project incorporated crisp traditional style with clean lines.  White cabinets and dark floors accentuate the open kitchen and spacious island.  In contrast, the office features white brick walls and dark cabinets.  The play of light and dark is the perfect backdrop for the comfortable furnishing in rich brown leather, camel tones, and red.

Woodrow Wilson

Bellani Residence is set in the lush canyons surrounding Mulholland Drive.  The Asian inspired residence offered the perfect back drop for this simple clean contemporary kitchen.  The cabinets are white foil wrap, with hydrolic lift up doors and pull-out pantries for maximum storage.  The laundry is handy in the kitchen and disappears behind white sliding doors with storage to maintain the streamlines of the space.

Ashdale Lane

The owner of this kitchen loved to bake and while we kept the main cabinets of the kitchen cherry wood, we wanted to the island and the cabinet which diplay her collection of cookie jars to be furniture pieces.  We chose the apple green paint to set the hutch and bakers island apart.

Kitchen

Magnolia Ave

This project involved adding on to the house and opening the kitchen, living room and  family room and raising the ceiling to create a spacious area for entertaining.  I served as the architect on the project.   An important factor was taking advantage of the access to the view and backyard and also creating high window to accentuate the ceilings.  Because the kitchen is central in the family area and dining area, the kitchen needed to feel warm and inviting and simultaneously neat and put away.
